This easy guide will help you create a new email account in Windows Live Mail 2012 with the proper server settings.

 

Step 1. Navigate to Accounts

  • Open Windows Live Mail 2012

  • From the top menu, click the Accounts tab

  • Click Email
     

 

Step 2. Add Your Email Account

  • Enter your full email address and Password (myemail@zona.net)

  • Enter your preferred Display name for your sent messages

  • Check the box for Manually configure server settings

  • Click Next

     

 

Step 3. Configure Your Server Settings

  • Using the drop-down, set the Incoming Server type to IMAP

  • In the Incoming Server address field enter:  mail.zona.net

  • In the Incoming Port field enter:  993

  • Check the box for Requires a secure connection (SSL)

  • Using the drop-down, set Authenticate using to Clear text

  • Enter your full email address in the Logon user name field

  • In the Outgoing Server address field enter:  smtp.zona.net

  • In the Outgoing Server port field enter:  465

  • Check the box for Outgoing server Requires a secure connection (SSL)

  • Check the box for Outgoing server Requires authentication

  • Click Next

  • Click Finish
