Using Task Lists

The Task List feature lets you create to-do lists and manage tasks through completion. You can add tasks to the default task list, and you can create other Task Lists to organize your to-do lists by more specific activities, such as by work or personal projects.

We have included step-by-step instructions below on tackling the most common webmail Task List functions (see them listed directly to the right). Click on a description (e.g., Creating a Task) and it will allow you to jump to specific instructions within this document. Then, click the browser back button to return to the top of the page.

Navigating to Tasks

Step 1. Go to the Calendar Tab and click List..

When you create a new task, you will select a Task List folder, also referred to as Task List, for which to track the task. By default, the Tasks List gives you a list view of all your tasks in the Tasks folder. You can create different Task Lists, in addition to the default Task List, and configure the lists to synchronize with the tasks from a remote iCal To Do list.

Create a New List

  • Click 3 dots menu icon

  • Click Create List…

  • Type in a name for that list.

The new list appears below your name in the task pane.

Create a Task

You can combine various lists into one, get reminders, and track task progress.

  • Click 3 dots menu icon and choose New Task.

  • Set a due date of the task in Due Date field.
  • Set a priority from the drop-down. The options available are Low, Normal, and High.
  • Choose a list to assign the task.
  • Any extra information related to the task goes in Notes section.

Alternatively,

  • in tasks pane, hover over a list in which to create the task and click it.

  • In the field that appears, type in your task.
  • Press enter — or click anywhere else in the task pane — to save the task with a check-box.
  • To set a due date or change the default priority, edit that task.

Edit a Task

  • Click the task created to bring up the options — Edit and Delete.
  • Click Edit.
  • The interface and options are the same as that of Create a Task.

Delete a Task

  • Click the task created to bring up the options — Edit and Delete.
  • Click Delete.

A notification on the top of the calendar pane confirms the deletion of the task.

Task list View orders

You can view the tasks list in the task pane as per a general list of tasks — list, priority, due date, or status.

List View

It shows all the tasks and the lists in which they belong. Lists appear in alphabetical order. Tasks within the list appear in the same order they were created; the latest task appears first.

Priority View

Tasks with decreasing order of priorities — High being first — are listed here.

Due Date View

This view shows the tasks in order of their due dates. Tasks that are past due appear first, followed by tasks that are needed later.

Done View

This pane lists tasks that are marked done.
